Hi, welcome to Walkers Waggin Tails
I’m Kristi
I’ve been involved with animal care for pretty much all my life, with a massive love of animals from a very early age. As a teen, my parents decided to move us to Devon, where I was thrilled to find that home was a family-run wildlife park not far from Dartmoor. Growing up in an environment where you never quite knew what would be in the house when you got home from school was pretty amazing. Lots of small baby mammals, and even the odd baby big cat, grew up in our little cottage in the grounds.
The wolf pack was completely fascinating to me and always had a special place in my heart. Watching them sparked a lifelong interest in our K9 friends. After college, animal-related of course, and 2 kids a few years later, I found myself shifting through different job roles but never quite finding something I wanted to stick at. Then, 13 years ago, I became a dog walker, and even on the freezing cold, sopping wet days, I love it.

About the dogs in my life who have taught me so much over the years
My Mum loved her German shepherds, so they have always been around from childhood. I love the breed, and this is the first point in my life where we don’t currently have one at home.
At the wildlife park, we had a couple of Rottweilers who taught me what amazing dogs these guys can be.
As an adult, I’ve been owned by several border collie crosses, GSDs, and currently 3 crazy golden retrievers.
Alongside my dog walking job of the last 13 years, I have spent a lot of time as a class assistant and stooge dog handler for my former boss, who is a dog trainer/behaviourist. Over the years, I have competed in Agility, Obedience, and Rally with my own dogs, had loads of fun, and some super adventures with some incredible dogs and people.
